The parable of the Sower-2

Parable of the Sower

The sower sows the word-Pastor Jim Huthmaker

Mark 4:1-20 And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. 2And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, 3Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 9And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 14The sower soweth the word. 15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Jesus himself said if you know this parable, you would understand all of his parables(Mark 4:13).

The seed is the word of God. It is the foundation of everything you do as a Christian.

The ground is our heart.

Mathew 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

The word is what brings forth fruit in our lives. God’s word must always be mixed with faith. God’s word is not a philosophy. We have to have faith behind God’s word. If we don’t, it will not profit anything.

Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

God’s word must be planted in our hearts. It must germinate before it can release any power. God’s word will not impact our lives until it gets on the inside of our hearts. God’s word is powerless in our lives until its planted in our hearts.

You can’t manipulate seedtime and harvest.

What you put in the ground is going to grow and you can not change it.

With God’s word, you plant it, then there’s time that goes by and then it begins to grow. That’s why it’s so important to speak faith and positive things.

Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

God’s word when it is spoken is spoken in spirit through his word, we get revelation from him.  We get a lot of revelation through his word, they are spirit. His word is always  positive. It is always life.

God’s word, when spoken is spoken in spirit through his word. We get revelation through his word, for they are spirit. His word is always  positive. It is always life.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Plant the word, it always grows of it self.  Faith will increase.  It will change us, it is a steady, gradual growth.

Seven major points to sowing the word

1. Seedtime and harvest we can not change or manipulate.

2. We reap what we sow.

3. Everything that is alive came from a seed.

4. The kingdom of God is based on laws. God’s word is a law. God can not go back on his word.

5. The word of God is the principle thing. The word of God is the seed.

6. We must sow the seed to get results and we must put faith in the seed.

7.The nature of the word of God will conform us to become like Jesus. The destiny he has for our lives.
