Salvation is for everyone

Salvation is for Everyone

Pastor Jim Huthmaker

Acts 16: 29-32 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Knowing Jesus is a relationship. He is our creator. He is our maker and He has a plan and destiny for everyone.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus declared the all important truth that He and He alone is the only way to God.

The apostle Peter also declared that Jesus was and is the only way to salvation.

Acts 4: 10,12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Ephesians 2:8, 10 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Grace is favor or good will. Doing the works of Jesus is the good works. It is not through works. You can not be saved through works. It is not through trying hard or even good intentions. It is through Jesus that we are saved.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Regeneration is being born again.

Great men like Abraham, Moses, the apostle Paul and Peter can not save us. It is through Jesus.

Isaiah was a prophet who spoke of Jesus 700 years before he was born.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Jesus took everything to the cross as the Savior of the world. We don’t have to live under legalism anymore, we don’t have to sacrifice animals because Jesus is and was the last sacrifice.

Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Logos is the Greek word for Word. Jesus was the Word made flesh. God brought the world into being with a spoken word (Genesis 1). Working through lineage, a blood line through the Bible from Genesis to the Gospels, God came through the form of man, Jesus. Jesus was full of grace and truth.

John 3:1-7 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:  2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.  3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
