Ephesians - Who We Are in Christ - Part 2

Ephesians - Who We Are in Christ - Part 2

Ephesians 1:22-23

The Bible says that Jesus is the Lord of all.

Acts 10:36, Romans 10:12, Matthew 28:18

All authority was given to Jesus in heaven and earth.

Ephesians 1:22 Jesus is head over everything.

Jesus is head over the church. Jesus is the shepherd of the Christian Church. He always has been and always will be. We all have a role in His church. We all have a gifting to share.

As His church, we have the opportunity every day to be an example for Him. We should be an expression of Jesus!

Expression - an indication of feeling, spirit, character.

Ephesians 2:1 And you has He quickened (made alive) who were (past tense) dead in trespasses and sins.

What kind of power did it take to make us alive from being dead? Resurrection power!

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead.

Romans 8:10-11 God conquered it all through Jesus our Savior.

Genesis 2:16-17 Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit and experienced immediate spiritual death and later natural death as a result of the first sin. We were part of that until we found our saving grace through Jesus.

Ephesians 2:2 When we are truly born again we start living for Jesus and turn more from sin every day. It does not happen overnight but with a growing relationship, you fall more and more in love every day.

Ephesians 2:3-5 We were all once living in a carnal sinful state.

Ephesians 2:8-10 It is by the free gift of grace. It is not through works -Trying to do good things to “get” to God.

We are God’s workmanship created in Jesus to do good works for others.

Titus 3:5

God certainly wants us to do good works for His people.

James 2:18 Faith will move us into action to do good works for Jesus.
